Mayan Aztec Swimming Pool
These hand painted glazed ceramic tile murals were created for a swimming pool on the ocean in the Caribbean. The theme is Aztec Mayan with the central pool floor medallion at 12 feet. A tremendous amount of research went into this swimming pool. We collected old lithograph drawings of numerous mayan temples in the Yucatan area. Upon studying the drawings, we were able to complile original images just as they would have appeared on the temples of long ago. Many of the lithographs included color details, which gave us the ability to duplicate the colors that were used in the original artwork, just as it would have been on the temples. These photographs show the original pool. The owners liked the artwork so well that they ordered a complete waterline design which encompassed the entire pool.
