Alma Tadema Swimming Pool Tile Wall Murals
These two swimming pool hand painted tile wall murals were adapted from the art of Alma Tadema. The murals are installed on the rear wall of a Douglasville Georgia mansion, adjacent to the swimming pool and spa. Each mural measures 20 feet in length. The tile size is 6x6 inches. It is important to know the tile size so that one can appreciate the detail in the art. These murals took over a year to create. The art is adapted from eight different paintings by Alma Tadema, the homeowners favorite old world artist. It was very difficult to create the composition. The pencil drawing that was presented for approval was lifesize. Three sections are shown in these photos of the original pencil drawing. There are seventeen people in the murals. The custom artwork is by Agape Tile LLC.
This type of mural is created today by creating the full color artwork and scanning the art in high resolution. The image is then separated into 6x6 inch areas and ceramic decals are made and high fired onto the porcelain. Photo ceramic murals created this way are UV Proof and Frost Proof.
